The Sanford Meisner Center - The Los Angeles home of the Master Teacher, The Sanford Meisner Center carries on his process to the future generations in the hands of Master Teacher and protégé, Martin Barter/Artistic Director. He is also one of the fifteen trained teachers of the Meisner Technique personally chosen by Mr. Meisner.
I was honored to work for Sanford Meisner in directing for the dedication festival of the SMC. The Sanford Meisner Center remains the only theater authorized to produce plays under the Meisner name.
Students include Academy Award winners: Joan Fontaine, Jennifer Jones, Grace Kelly, Edmund O'Brien, Jo Van Fleet, Joanne Woodward, Gregory Peck, Joel Grey, Lee Grant, Diane Keaton, Jon Voight, Mary Steenburgen, and Robert Duvall, as well as directors Bob Fosse and Sydney Pollack. |

Broadway Theatre Project - Broadway Theatre Project is a unique musical theatre program. Based on the philosophy that theatre training requires working with professionals, BTP conducts auditions annually in several U.S. cities to select talented young people to participate in an intensive three week residency program. Housed on the campus of the University of South Florida, apprentices take classes in jazz, ballet, tap, voice, acting, stage combat, repertory and stress management.

The Burt Reynolds Museum - Actor, Director, Emcee of the Oscars, Talk Show host and Super Star, Burt Reynolds is one of America's most famous celebrities. The first star to be paid one million dollars per movie, he has been recognized for playing both drama and comedy. His lifetime collection of awards and personal gifts from his friends is now on display at the Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum in Jupiter, Florida.
Over the years, Mr Reynolds developed many educational as well as entertainment venues in our area, and in 1979 he created the Burt Reynolds Institute of Theater Training (BRITT), for young actors until it closed in 1997. The museum has begun to revive his efforts in creating educational opportunities for actors and film-makers, and in 2003 he personally taught two master acting classes for seasoned actors. He has also developed an outreach program for disadvantaged young actors. Some of the museums other educational efforts include a class on documentary film-making and screenwriting. |
